Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions explain how Green Thumb Lawn Care provides services, handles scheduling and billing, and sets expectations so your lawn stays healthy and hassle-free.

Premium Lawn Care • Annual Service Plans

Last updated: November 30, 2025

1. Service Overview

Green Thumb Lawn Care (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides professional lawn care services, including but not limited to fertilization, weed control, insect control, aeration, overseeding, and related treatments (“Services”) for residential and commercial properties.

By scheduling or receiving Services, you (“Client”, “you”, “your”) agree to these Terms & Conditions for the duration of your service relationship with us.

2. Annual Service Plans

Most of our programs are designed as annual service plans. These plans bundle multiple treatments throughout the year to maintain a healthy, consistent lawn.

  • Services are automatically scheduled at optimal times during the season.
  • Each visit and treatment is part of a complete program, not a one-time application.
  • Your plan may renew automatically each season unless canceled in accordance with Section 8.

3. Scheduling & Access to Property

Service dates are scheduled based on weather, product timing, and route efficiency. Exact times may vary.

  • You authorize our technicians to access your property for Services when you are home or away.
  • We may adjust visit dates due to weather or lawn conditions to protect your lawn and maximize results.
  • Gates must be unlocked and pets secured; inaccessible areas may be skipped and noted on your service ticket.

4. Pricing, Invoicing & Payment

Service pricing is based on square footage, program type, and property conditions. Prices may be adjusted over time to reflect lawn size changes, fuel, product costs, or additional requested services.

  • Invoices are typically generated per visit or per billing cycle as stated on your account.
  • Payment is due according to the terms shown on your invoice (for example, upon completion or Net 15).
  • We may offer auto-pay or card-on-file options; by enrolling, you authorize us to charge the designated payment method for Services rendered.
  • Late or unpaid balances may result in service suspension until the account is current.

5. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate property information, including any underground lines, invisible fences, or hazards.
  • Mow your lawn at recommended heights and water as advised for best results.
  • Follow all post-treatment instructions provided by our technicians or on service notes.

6. Use of Lawn Care Products

We use professional-grade products applied by trained, licensed technicians where required by state or local law.

  • Products may include fertilizers, weed control, insect control, and other turf care materials.
  • We follow label directions and best practices for safe and effective application.
  • You agree to keep children and pets off treated areas until dry or as otherwise indicated on posted signage.

7. Results & Guarantees

Our programs are designed to significantly improve turf health and appearance over time. Lawn results depend on factors such as weather, soil conditions, mowing, watering, and prior lawn health.

  • Where offered, “service guarantee” means we will work with you to address concerns with additional spot treatments or recommendations, not refund of past services.
  • We cannot guarantee results on lawns with severe neglect, disease, poor irrigation, heavy shade, or uncontrollable environmental factors.

8. Changes, Skips & Cancellation

You may request rescheduling or minor program changes by contacting our office before your next service date.

  • To cancel your annual plan, we ask that you contact us prior to the next scheduled visit. In some cases, prorated adjustments may apply for partially completed programs.
  • If Services are repeatedly skipped or declined, program effectiveness may be reduced and any guarantees may be limited.

9. Liability & Limitations (Services)

While we take great care in treating your property, Green Thumb Lawn Care is not responsible for damage resulting from:

  • Failure to follow posted or written instructions after service.
  • Pre-existing lawn issues, disease, insects, or environmental conditions outside our control.
  • Hidden obstacles such as rocks, stumps, irrigation components, or invisible fences not disclosed to us.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service visit giving rise to the claim.

10. Communication Preferences

By becoming a customer, you consent to receive service reminders, scheduling updates, account notices, and marketing messages via phone, SMS/text, email, or mail using the contact information you provide. Message and data rates may apply.

You may update your communication preferences at any time by contacting our office or using any opt-out instructions included in our messages where applicable.

11. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, policies, or applicable laws. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the most recent version.

Continued use of our Services or website after updates are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms & Conditions.

12. Website Terms of Use

By accessing the Green Thumb Lawn Care website (the “Site”), you are agreeing to be bound by these terms of service, all applicable laws and regulations, and you agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this Site. The materials contained in this Site are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

13. Use License

a. Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on the Site for personal, non-commercial, transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

  • i. modify or copy the materials;

  • iii. attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on the Site;
  • iv. remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
  • v. transfer the materials to another person or “mirror” the materials on any other server.

b. This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions and may be terminated by us at any time. Upon terminating your viewing of these materials or upon the termination of this license, you must destroy any downloaded materials in your possession whether in electronic or printed format.

14. Website Disclaimer

a. The materials on the Site are provided on an “as is” basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaim and negate all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.

b. Further, we do not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on the Site or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this Site.

15. Limitations (Website)

In no event shall we or our suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on the Site, even if we or an authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.

16. Accuracy of Materials

The materials appearing on the Site could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. We do not warrant that any of the materials on the Site are accurate, complete, or current. We may make changes to the materials contained on the Site at any time without notice. However, we do not make any commitment to update the materials.

We may revise these terms of service for the Site at any time without notice. By using this Site, you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.

19. Refund Policy

You may ask for a refund at any time for an order that is incomplete. An incomplete order is one that has never been unblocked. Once unblocked, by us or any other entity, it will be considered a complete job and no longer eligible for a refund. This refund policy applies to eligible online purchases or orders as specified on your invoice or order confirmation and does not replace any separate service guarantees we may offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers from our Green Thumb Turf Talk brochure

Everything from what’s included in your program to safety, payments, and special situations.

Lawn Maintenance & Program Details

Learn how long we’ve been serving the community, what materials we use, and what’s covered in your annual lawn care.

Green Thumb has been locally owned and operated since 1980.

Both! We use granular fertilizers and liquid weed controls. The combination of these two methods allows us to provide your lawn with a long-lasting green color and exceptional control of weeds.

There are five scheduled applications per season with anywhere up to eight materials being applied on one treatment. Crabgrass control, weed control, insect control, grub control, fungus and disease control, and fertilizers are all included in our program. If any problems arise throughout the season, don’t hesitate to call us.

We offer soil sample analysis, core aeration, lime treatments, flea and tick control, and seeding. Soil analyses are sent to a lab for a $35 fee and can be subject to change. All of our other service pricing is subject to your individual lawn size.

Some of our customers opt to only have their front yard serviced for the curb appeal. Please let us know if you’re interested so we can adjust your square footage and price accordingly.

Generally speaking, we recommend two main practices:

• Mow the lawn at the tallest setting on your mower.
• Water the lawn regularly.

Every lawn is different, so it’s always best to speak directly with your technician about your unique requirements. Always refer to the instructions left behind by your technician at each visit.

Billing, Pricing & Contracts

How payments work, what your price includes, and options if you’d like fewer services or need to cancel.

Payments are made by check. We have an annual or monthly payment plan for your convenience.

Note: Your monthly payments are not per service. Your initial payment plus all monthly payments are equal to your current season’s cost.

Your annual cost on the enclosed contract encompasses all of your lawn’s fertilizer, herbicide, and insecticide needs for the season.

There are some services that most lawns will not need every year and are not included in your contract. If you’ve hired a landscaper to take care of your lawn and landscape’s other needs, your technician can make recommendations for additional services to improve the overall health of your lawn.

Our most beautiful lawns are fertilized and inspected five times a year. However, it is possible to achieve satisfactory results with a minimum of three applications on some lawns. Please call our office to discuss a possible reduced service program that will suit your needs and expectations.

You may cancel your contract at any time. Upon cancelling, we expect prompt payment for all services rendered. You will not be charged for any remaining applications if the contract is cancelled midseason.

Service Visits, Guarantee & Scheduling

What happens on visit day, how our guarantee works, and how we communicate before and after treatments.

Absolutely! We are a service company. If the results of any application are not satisfactory, please call us. We’ll reapply that application or refund the cost of that application.

Not only do we guarantee satisfactory results, we will do extra applications for fertilizer, weed, and insect controls as needed if any problems arise.

Sure! Please write “Call First” on the top of your contract and your technician will contact you the day before your scheduled services.

We always recommend waiting 24 hours before re-entering treated areas on your property. This ensures that enough time has passed for all dusts to settle and all sprays to dry.

As a further precaution, we recommend watering a day or two after applications to rinse all spray residues off of the leaves and to bind the fertilizers to the soil profile. After our materials are watered in and dried out, the lawn may be used and safely enjoyed.

You bet. We always try to leave these areas looking cleaner than when we arrived.

Safety, Less-Toxic Options & Pests

Information on less toxic programs, licensing, moles, voles, moss, and where to find product labels.

We offer three general programs – Classic, Restricted, and Pesticide-Free. If you’re interested in our restricted or pesticide-free programs, we would love to custom tailor a program that best suits your expectations as well as your concerns.

With the exception of new hires, who are licensed after a year of apprenticeship, all of our applicators are licensed by the New York State DEC.

A very common misconception about moles is that if you’ve got moles, you’ve got grubs. Grub activity will certainly attract moles to your lawn, but that does not necessarily mean they are the culprit in all instances.

Up to 90% of a mole’s diet consists of earthworms and other insects. As a courtesy, we will inspect your lawn for grub activity and apply a granular grub killer if grubs are present. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee control of moles. We can recommend local wildlife control experts if needed.

Like moles, voles are not typically responsible for long-term or heavy damage to turf. While they will eat grass blades and stems, they become noticeable due to the large number of slender tunnels that they create and not from signs of stress or damage.

Tunnels can be raked over or stamped down to deter vole activity and lawns will rebound over the course of the season.

Unfortunately, moss is a problem of environmental conditions. The best way to reduce moss issues is by opening those problem areas up to more sunlight penetration.

All product labels are available on our website at www.greenthumbturftalk.com.
